Hello, Hello!!
I embarked on my writing journey at the tender age of ten – advice from a therapist, go figure. Who knew the advice would ignite a lifelong passion. I started out with poetry. The raw honesty became my favorite aspect of writing, keeping me hooked. Soon, my love of storytelling led me to short stories. These were a fu***** blast to me! I already loved reading so much because escaping into another world was remarkably cathartic, but writing a story was nothing short of euphoric! Creating a whole world with people, feelings, traumas, it was almost indescribable. The short stories kept me satiated for a long time. Thennnn… something special happened, my then boyfriend (now husband) bought me my first kindle! While I still adore physical books, this device was a game changer!
I was thrilled with my kindle to the point I was buying .99 cent books attempting to read as much as I could. This little gift ignited novel writing, after all, if I could critique a story, why not write one of my own?
So began my novel writing. I have currently (as of July 2024) 8 drafts of stories I plan to finish someday, but only one that I wanted to be my debut novel. Through the Abyss. This debut novel holds a special place in my heart. Despite receiving feedback from agents that the story wasn’t marketable, I felt it was a tale I needed to share. And now, it’s out in the world, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
Writing is my true passion. It’s the one pursuit that brings me unfiltered joy, and I’ll keep writing as long as it continues to make me happy—even if my drafts remain a work in progress. My hope is to offer readers an escape into captivating worlds, and that’s the ultimate goal of my stories.
Anyway, that’s just a little bit about how I started this journey.
